2025 PE Class Policies & Procedures

1. Attendance & Punctuality

  • Follow school rules: Be in class on time.

  • You have 5 minutes after the bell to be dressed and seated in your assigned spot.

  • All students will be assigned a specific spot on the floor for attendance.

2. Dress Code

  • Wear appropriate gym wear.

  • No crocs, flip flops, sandals, boots, jeans, or other non-athletic clothing.

  • Proper gym shoes are required.

  • Daily dress grade: 10 points — loss of points for inappropriate attire.

3. Class Flow

  • Attendance in assigned spots.

  • Baseline warm-ups: quick runs up and down the basketball court.

  • Dynamic warm-up: 8 exercises × 30 seconds each.

  • Sit for the daily lesson plan overview.

  • Activity, drills, or sport for the day.

  • Cleanup whistle — 5 minutes before the bell to allow time to change.

4. Daily Points & Grading

  • Mon/Tue/Wed/Fri:

  • Participation = 20 points/day

  • Dress = 10 points/day

  • -5 points for each behavioral infraction.

  • Thursday (Strength & Conditioning): Up to 40 points for effort.

5. Units & Curriculum

  • 2-week units focusing on one sport.

  • Mon–Wed: skill breakdown and drills.

  • Friday: game/play day to apply skills.

  • Fitness Test in Q1 & retest in Q2 (200 points each).

6. Locker Room & Personal Items

  • Lockers and locks will be assigned — keep belongings inside your locker.

  • No locker room visits without permission.

  • Water breaks will be given when the water fountain door is opened.

  • We may go outside in good weather — be prepared.

7. Electronics Policy

  • No phones outside the locker room for any reason.

  • If a phone is visible, it will be confiscated and turned into the office.

8. Behavior Expectations

  • No hazing, bullying, intimidation, or fighting.

  • No “slap boxing” or “shadow boxing.” If hands go up in a threatening way, you will be removed from class.

  • Respect equipment — use it only as instructed and put it away when told.

9. Medical/Participation Policy

  • No sitting out without a note from a nurse or doctor or main office approval.

  • Report any injuries immediately — do not leave class without notifying the teacher.

 

If we follow these rules, we’ll have a safe, productive, and fun year in PE!
